We decided to give this place a try while on vacation and drove about 30 minutes from our hotel after hearing good things. We ordered the Three for Three with yams, cheese grits, red beans, fried green tomatoes, and fried okra. The portions were on the smaller side, but the price reflected that, so that wasn't a surprise. Unfortunately, the food was lacking flavor overall. The fried tomatoes were hard instead of tender. We had also ordered a baked potato, but since it never arrived, it was promptly removed from our bill once we mentioned it. The hostess wasn't very welcoming, which didn't make the best first impression. Our server, Kendall, was the highlight of the experience—she was pleasant, kind, and handled everything professionally. However, we never received drink refills or extra napkins during our meal. Overall, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. We're from Louisiana, so we're used to bold, flavorful soul food, and this didn't quite meet those expectations. I wouldn't necessarily call it soul food, but if you're looking for a quick Southern-style lunch or dinner, it may be worth stopping by.

Took my husband there for Sunday brunch belated Father’s Day breakfast! Sat inside because the heat outside was up to about 93 or 94°. The music was amazing. If loudness bothers you sit outside. The food was excellent! The wait staff was very good. This place is walk-in for brunch. No reservations accepted. We had a great time there and definitely plan on going back!

This is a must-visit!!! The atmosphere outdoes the moderate prices, and I'm sure it's even better in the evenings with the live music. The fried green tomatoes appetizer (4) were first-rate. I had the twin pork chop dinner, one fried, one grilled. If they could season those giant boneless Iowa-style breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches this way, we woudn't need ketchup and mustard. And the grilled version was awesome, too. I had the sugar and spice yams (excellent) and the sliced fries (also good). My co-diners both got the seafood platter, with grilled catfish, a crabcake, and grilled shrimp. Mashed potatoes and brown gravy, pineapple cole slaw, and mac/cheese (excellent) for their sides. Or server was Mason. He was super friendly and helpful, and informed me of the 10% military discount.

I stopped by 5 Sisters while exploring downtown Pensacola. The atmosphere is undeniably jovial, and the service was truly excellent throughout our meal. However, the food itself left a lot to be desired. While they market themselves as a soul food destination, the dishes were surprisingly lacking in 'soul.' ​None of the food was technically bad—we tried the shrimp and grits, the fried green tomato BLT, chicken and waffles, and a burger—but in a city with so many incredible culinary options, these dishes just didn't hold their own. It’s a convenient spot if you’re in a pinch and just need to satisfy your hunger, but it’s unlikely to be a meal you'll find yourself craving again. We also got the fried green tomatoes and okra for an appetizer and was probably the best part of the meal.

I got the seafood platter. It came with a big piece of fried fish, three shrimps, and one crab cake. I got sweet potato fries and mac and cheese as my side. By far the BEST restaurant mac and cheese I've tried. It was thick, creamy, and well seasoned. The fish batter is pretty thick, but it was very crispy, hot and fresh! My partner got their spicy fried chicken sandwich and I did have a bite. it was very good! Fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor! We also got the buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer and WOAH! I know this sounds weird but, if you like beef sticks, you gotta try this haha We will definitely be coming back here
